After studying at Baylor and receiving her degree in Elementary Education, Ms. Downey began her career as a professional artist and educator. She is excited to develop a love for creativity and artistic expression in her students. Her career has been marked by the desire to develop the creative potential the Lord has put in each and every person, and she is passionate about children knowing the love of the Father and learning to worship the Lord through the use of their artistry and gifts.

As an artist she enjoys worshiping the Lord through painting and encourages every child to glorify the Lord using the gifts and talents innately given to them. She is excited to see students develop an appreciation for beauty and the glory creation reflects back to God, while making wonderful things together in the art room!
