Susan graduated from California State University, Hayward, in 2000, with a degree in Biology, Human Emphasis. She taught 10 years at Valley Christian High School, Dublin, CA and 20 years at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon, CA.

She has also coached volleyball at all levels for 20+ years and is a certified referee; volleyball is also a passion for her! She retired from teaching in June 2021 ... until Valor! She writes, "The Lord connected us and I am so thankful for His works! What I love about Valor is the amazing students that I get to teach and the learning environment present here. I love linking the God of Science to our world for He is the very First Scientist and our model for scientific discovery/learning."

Susan loves being a Grandma to her grandgirls, ages 8, 5 & 2; She also loves to sing (harmonize), read, keep care of Cooper age 4 (mher Lab/Setter rescue), garden, coach volleyball, and loves to learn something new every day, especially from her students. Susan loves the beach (any beach will do), loves most music, is attempting to learn French, and other cultures of the world. Fun fact: It took her 25 years to get through college and she attended 8 of them to do so!
