Misty Nissen joined the Valor family in fall of 2024. She graduated from Buena Vista University (BVU) with her B.A. in Elementary Education and earned her Masters in Organizational Leadership from BVU in 2019 and her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Midland University in 2020. Misty spent 3 years teaching public school (two years in first grade and one year in fourth) before taking time off to stay home with her two young children. During that time she was a substitute teacher in grades pK-8. She also worked in the therapeutic educational consulting sphere for a few years.

Misty has been married to her husband, Jay, for nearly 12 years and they have two children, both of whom attend Valor. She is very excited to be a part of the Valor and loves Valor's focus on God and developing passionate disciples of Jesus.
