Mrs. Engebretson (a.k.a. Mrs. E.) is excited to serve the Lord and Valor families by teaching creative writing in the Rhetoric School! Transitioning away from a career in professional writing, she has enjoyed substitute teaching in a number of Valor classrooms and student-teaching in spring 2021. She loves the way teachers and co-teachers work together to cultivate virtue and character in students through a rich, classical learning experience steeped in the true, the good, and the beautiful. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Azusa Pacific University and has nearly completed a Certificate of Classical Learning at the University of Dallas. When she isn’t teaching in the classroom or at home (her daughters are in fifth grade and third grade at Valor), Mrs. E. might be coaching soccer, belting showtunes in the car with her daughters, reading silently or aloud, studying, writing, or taking in a podcast while pairing socks.
