Mrs. Carolyn Harper
Carolyn Harper is excited to be back in the classroom as a third grade teacher. She graduated from Wheaton College in 2011 with a degree in elementary education. After subbing for a year, Carolyn taught third grade at Woodway Elementary and thinks third grade is such a fun age! She and her husband Sam then helped plant a church in Ann Arbor, Michigan which is where their first son was born. A few years later, they settled back in Waco where they love raising their family in her hometown. Carolyn and Sam have been married for thirteen years and have three children; Everett, Oliver, and Neelie. The boys are in the Grammar School at Valor, and Neelie can't wait to join them this fall as a first grader. The Harpers have been part of the Valor community since 2020 when Everett started in kindergarten.
Carolyn loves the culture of Valor, the co-teaching model, and getting to play such an important part in her own children’s education. She loves children and feels called to teaching and impacting the next generation. She enjoys watching her kids play sports, going on walks in nature, her chickens, colors and design, reading, and attempting to learn how to play the piano.
