Mr. Kanawyer brings extensive educational leadership experience, having served in K-12 administration for the past decade. He was recently recognized as an HEB Excellence in Education, Principal of the Year finalist, and has previously earned the Texas Schools to Watch distinction. Wes is a strategic visionary while remaining a servant-leader and embodies Valor’s values of discipleship, biblical obedience, learning in every situation, and community. He and Tia have been married for 19 years this spring and have three beautiful children – Karis (16), Caeli (14), and Caleb (12). Karis will graduate this spring at 16 years old with an associate’s degree and will be attending Texas Tech in the fall to pursue a business degree. Caeli is taking dual credit courses in addition to homeschool coursework and is also on track to end with an associate’s degree at 16. Both daughters currently work at Slow Rise in Woodway. Caleb possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and will be attending Valor in the fall. Both Wes and Tia have been believers for over 20 years and are members of Harris Creek Baptist Church where they serve in a variety of capacities. They love to travel the country to visit family members spread across the nation and when he has a spare minute, Wes is an archery enthusiast and loves hunting anything with a bow.
