The role of the parent as Co-Teacher at Valor is critical in the success of the University Model of schooling that Valor follows.   Because of this, we do have expectations we expect the co-teaching parent to abide by: 

– The first responsibility of the Valor parent is to raise and nurture their student(s) as a disciple (s) of Christ, and we ask them to do that with their whole heart and to the best of their ability as a non-perfect parent, relying on God’s grace daily.

– We require one parent to be fully present on home days, working with their students in the ways outlined here.

– If a student needs additional assistance, we expect the parent to support that student as best they can at home, or pursue options of providing additional support if the needs are beyond the scope and skill level of the parent. 

– We ask parents to maintain open lines of communication with their student’s teachers when they have questions about the home day assignments or in other matters relating to classroom dynamics, missed work due to absences or tardies, vacations, etc.

– We expect parents to make every effort to get their student(s) to school each day class is in session, and on time. 

– We expect parents to attend the required co-teacher trainings before school in August, once in the Fall semester and once in the Spring semester to keep in line with Valor’s value of continually learning and growing.
