Mrs. Colleen McCormick
I have been an ASL Interpreter for 38 years. Rather than a job or career, I feel it is my calling to use the gift that God gave me to serve others. I have served as an interpreter in four different school districts. I also have served as an interpreter at several colleges. While raising my two sons, I taught in the Kids College at MCC and they were able to go to college with me and attend fun classes. I have taught adult continuing education ASL as well. When God told me it was time to retire in 2021, I was surprised but soon realized that it was just the beginning of more service in a different way. I have been married to my junior high sweetheart for 50 years. We have two sons and daughters-in-laws, five grandchildren, and two grandchildren who are ours by "adoption". My husband, Craig, and I have enjoyed teaching teenagers for over 25 years at our church. We have been drivers, Sunday School teachers, sponsors for camp, and whatever else was needed in our youth program. We live in Mosheim which is between Valley Mills and Gatesville. It is a quiet country life, and we love it. Our household includes the two of us, my dad who is 88 years old, one of the "adopted" grandkids, nine cats (outdoor), and 5 chickens. I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, and the beach. We are more than thankful for the life God has provided for our family.
