Mrs. Jessica McCormick
Jessica McCormick joined the Valor team in 2016 and has been teaching kindergarten ever since. God led her into a teaching career post college graduation and a previous career as an interior designer. By listening to God’s call, she went back to school and received her teaching degree in EC-6, then further followed God’s plan and entered grad school in 2016. She then received her Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin in May of 2018 and is a certified Reading Specialist EC-12. Her favorite things about Valor are the community and culture, queso day, and the opportunity to truly love the beautiful, do the good, and know the true with God. She shares her life with her husband, Josh, of 20 years, her sons Jake and Drew, and their pups, Rio and Fern. Jake and Drew both attend Valor. Her family is about all things camping: tent camping, pop up camper camping, primitive backpacking camping, and from time to time camping where there are bears. Jessica loves to read and to spend time connecting with friends. When you can’t find her doing these things, she is driving a kid or two to various sports commitments and scouts, trying to grow plants, and relishing in quiet time (when she gets it). Fun fact: She once hiked 24 miles in two days with 4,000 feet elevation gain with her husband and kindergarten/second grade sons. She lost a toe nail in the process…but, it grew back!
