Tina Mathis is a Logic School Math teacher at Valor. She received her BS in Education from Baylor University. This is her 10th year in the classroom and her 5th year at Valor. A challenging high school class experience was her inspiration to study education. She has been a stay-at-home mom, homeschooler and teacher and has experienced most school systems including homeschool, public, private and UMS. What she loves most about Valor is partnering with parents to teach students and influence them for God’s glory. One of her favorite things about the Rhetoric stage is getting to know her students on a deeper level and learning about their person, who they are and what makes them who they are. She and John have been married 23 years and have 4 children. Their oldest daughter is married and their others are all still in school. She loves to run, hike and cook in her free time. Her most favorite way to spend time, though, is with her family. Lastly, a little known fact about Tina is that her dad opened an Italian restaurant in San Antonio in 1968 and named a dish on the menu after her when she was born. You can still order it today ????
