Jennifer Rucker joined the Valor family in 2018 as the Grammar School Music Specialist. She teaches weekly music classes to grades PK-5. She graduated from Baylor University with both a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy and a Masters of Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. After teaching elementary music in Texas public schools for six years, she took a hiatus from professionally teaching to be at home and eventually homeschool her three children. She loves that at Valor, she can enjoy the best of both worlds… sharing her love of music and building a musical foundation for our youngest learners, while still being able to be a part of her own children’s education… all while sharing her love for Jesus! She can often be found with her nose in a book, and she especially enjoys time with her bookclub girls. She loves to go on adventures with her family, whether in the backyard or abroad. A lifelong learner, she is currently working on becoming proficient on the accordion, so she can have a “traveling instrument.” She also enjoys working in her flower beds, even if she doesn’t have a particularly green thumb!
