Mom’s “Minute Devo”–Monday, May 13th

“I Raise a Hallelujah”

Another song has been playing over in my mind and out my mouth the past two weeks. Perhaps I’ve heard and sung these songs before, but now they are imbedded in my heart, with a meaning directly for me!

Bethel Music’s Jonathan David and Melissa Helser wrote these lyrics as a “fight song” for a little boy’s life! You can watch the music video and hear about the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awkO61T6i0k

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder!

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

Last Mom’s Minute left you hanging on the edge, as I felt hanging on the edge! BUT GOD…

He is Faithful!!!

We’ll get back to that in a minute. The Webster’s online dictionary states that hallelujah is an exclamation! An exclamation of praise, worship, rejoicing.

hal·le·lu·jah/ˌhaləˈlo͞oyə/

exclamation

1.God be praised (uttered in worship or as an expression of rejoicing).”He is risen! Alleluia!”

noun

2..an utterance of the word “hallelujah” as an expression of worship or rejoicing.

So, literally, the song says that I raise a “God be Praised, an utterance of worship, and an expression of rejoicing” in the presence of my enemies! That I will do this even louder than my unbelief, and this song of worship, praise, and rejoicing is a WEAPON!!

And when I do this, HEAVEN comes and fights for me. I don’t have to fight, I have to stand and see the salvation of the Lord as the Israelites did in Exodus 14:13-14 and again in 2 Chronicles 20:17. God is in the business of fighting for us-once and for all on Calvary; but He continues to do so in my life daily, hourly, even down to the minute!

God took care of the cyst for my daughter. It ruptured, and though there was intense pain, no permanent damage occurred, no surgery or hormone therapy needed!

PRAISE GOD. My father became stable again, as he has gone up and down this year. Last week he was to have a blood transfusion, but his numbers were good enough that it was not needed; and he meet with a hospice doctor, but the doctor confirmed that he isn’t ready to be put under her care yet. I know God is keeping Dad here until just the right time.

Romans 8:28 (AMP) tells us:

28 And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

Not everything is good, but God can turn everything we ever go through for OUR GOOD and for HIS GOOD purpose! AMEN!

So I’m going to RAISE A HALLELUJAH in the middle of trials and challenges, and I’m going to Praise Him LOUDER THAN THE STORM. Because I know God is Faithful. He has shown Himself so faithful to me over and over and over again. And He will continue to do so, because that’s who HE IS!

If you need prayer for any reason, if you are going through a challenge, please reach out to someone, or email [email protected] I would love to pray with you or for you!

Blessings on your week!
